VOMO at The Royal Television Society Awards

RTS Awards

Saturday evening saw the 2009 Royal Television Society awards for the North East and Borders at the Sage Centre in Gateshead. It was an exciting night for VOMO as we had entered 'Saved To Memory' from CO2, VOMO and Visioncom in the category of Best Drama.

Although the competition was strong we were thrilled to be nominated for the shortlist of three, up against the excellent Ghost Street by Chris Chapman of Dene Films and Loveland featuring Cilla Black.

Each of the nominated films was featured on the big screen. And the presenter had this to say about our film..

"SAVED TO MEMORY was extremely inventive and very powerful, with great performances from the young cast."

In the end we were just pipped at the post by Ghost street which took the award. Still, we feel the nomination was a mark of recognition for the groups work and watch out for VOMO at next years RTS Awards...  The Borders are coming!

LocalEyes Screenschool

The first sessions in each area will be facilitated by award winning writer and director, Chris Chapman (The Conkerers). Chris will be helping the groups develop an idea for a film that they will then spend the rest of the year planning and producing.

The host venues for Screenschool activities are...
