"Its surprising that young people often relate and communicate better with a camera than they do with me or other adults"

Welcome to VOMO

Eric Glennie at the IYMP Filmskool

A Voice of My Own (VOMO) is a video empowerment project for young people in the Scottish Borders who want to make films about issues that are important to them.

You can find out what's happening, and if there are any projects near you.  There might be a VOMO Champion at your local youth centre, who can help you with film-making projects.  VOMO has film equipment spread right across the Borders - cameras, editing laptops and projectors.  All you need to take an idea from script to screen!

Have a look in the VOMO Screenroom at the films which have already been made through VOMO, or with VOMO's help.

Get inspired, get involved, get in touch!

VOMO is based at Arts Development, Scottish Borders Council in Selkirk.  The project has received funding and support from:Changing Children’s Services Group, Youth Borders, LEADER+, Scottish Borders Council and the Regeneration Outcome Agreement.

VOMO is funded until March 2008, and we are currently trying to raise funding to continue the project for another 3 years.
